Waxploitation Records ha confermato il 5 Maggio come data di uscita per CAUSES2, il secondo album della serie che raccoglie fondi in aiuto del Darfur. Il 100% dei profitti andrà a Medici Senza Frontiere, Human Rights Watch and Oxfam America.
L’album include canzoni rare ed esclusive di alcuni dei più convincenti artisti della scena Indie ed Alternative mondiale: Black Moth Super Rainbow, The Decemberists, Devendra Banhart, Diplo, Federico Aubele, Gnarls Barkley, LCD Soundsystem, My Morning Jacket, Matthew Dear, Mum, Neon Neon, RJD2, Sharon Jones & Dap-Kings, ed anche un contributo di Tim & Eric degli Adult Swim (remixati da Devlin e Darko di Spank Rock).
“Nessuno ha perso le speranze che le cose possano andare meglio in Darfur” dice un portavoce di Waxploitation. “C’è un numero impressionante di persone impegnate a far si che le cose cambino. Faremo tutto il possibile per aiutarli nella loro ricerca. ”
Causes1 è uscita con grande successo nel 2007. L’album includeva brani di Animal Collective, The Black Keys, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, The Cure, The Shins e Spoon, per nominarne alcuni.

Fondata una decade fa, Waxploitation è la casa del management di Danger Mouse, Gnarls Barkley, Dangerdoom and Black Moth Super Rainbow. Sebbene l’etichetta abbia come scopo primario gli album benefit, in passato è stata la casa di artisti come Tha Alkaholiks, Tweaker and Teargas & Plateglass.
